Name: Rissen
Age: 23
Race: Irken
Height: 6'0
Weight: 140
Affiliation: Rebel
Gender: Female
Sexuality: Bi
Occupation: Captain of her ship, Former technician & soldier

Description: She is of average height with a pale shade of green skin and pinkish ruby eyes. Her antennae have a normal, singular curl and are normally held high. Her most common outfit consists of a pink sweater-like garment with pastel yellow trim along the bottom and dark pants that are notably torn along her left leg. She also wears bright red boots that zip along the sides with dark soles.

Equipment: Aloot Cruiser (main mode of transport), MIRU (Mini Information Retrieval Unit), EMID (Emergency Medical Interest Drone), & Jaunt Gun (Fires off a sphere of blue energy capable of traveling only a short distance from the shooter, hence the weapon's name, but the use of these obsolete weapons are rarely heard of because the farther the target is from the shooter the less damage will be caused, as the collective energy is quick to dissipate)

History: She grew as any other smeet underground in an Irken training facility maturing into a rather tech savvy loyalist. Rissen served proudly in both labs and on the battlefield. However, over time her missions began to take their toll with two particular events acting as a breaking point. The first was when she was sent to intercept a group of insurgents, losing two comrades in the process of corning a single member of the group, who turned out to be an irken enforcer known as Warb. He was taken away and released soon after without consequence, but this event dented Rissen’s faith in the Empire and made her question her own motives of serving them. Not too long after this mission, she retired honorably from the military field to work as a technician in a medical facility.

It was at this facility that she befriended patient #58890, otherwise known as Clootie (Cloo for short), who had been held as a mental patient, but he was treated more like a slave and prisoner by the other staff. Years of pain and hardship, and the failure her last mission met as well as her interactions with Warb had already caused cracks to form in her beliefs, but upon witnessing the neglect and cruelty inflicted upon Cloo and his fellow patients, Rissen lost all faith in the empire. Her doubts shown most prominently during one visit she made on an off day only to be forbidden from seeing Cloo outside of work by her superior who deemed her behavior as unprofessional.

In tandem with these events, Rissen was later taken aside by a pair of soldiers, Critz and Ana, who had chosen to rebel against the empire, wanting to tear it apart from the inside out, but they were in need of Rissen's military and technical knowledge to make that happen. Viewing this as a chance to change the empire for the better, Rissen agreed.

Silent sabotage was committed allowing numerous enemies of the Tallest and Empire to evade custody and giving the resisting forces a slight edge against the empire. Soon, others joined the trio forming a small squad of eight. However, with time Rissen began to realize how dangerous this work was and took precautions to protect those around her. She cut all ties with coworkers, social friends, military personnel, and even Cloo, who she left in the dark about the entire situation. Backup plans were made and Rissen made sure to prepare for the worst as their plans escalated from sabotage to usurping the current Tallest. On the night of the plan, everyone set out prepared for the worst only to be captured the second they infiltrated the Tallest’s palace.

As it turned out, there was a spy on the team and soon everyone was brainwashed back into submission...all but Rissen...her resilience was chalked up to a computer error, but this proved inaccurate when a second attempt was made to 'repair' her faulty programming.

Upon closer examination the Control Brains were unable to find any kind of error, rather they sensed an organic (natural born) disturbance in the link between the PAK and mechanical input, meaning that although the Control Brains and others were able to view the PAK's information and take copies from it, they were unable to add, manipulate, or forcefully detract already existing memories, thoughts, and opinions. It was because of this that her body shell was labeled defective. Carted off to a lab for study, Rissen endured three hellish weeks of humiliation and experimentation.

Eventually, the scientists concluded her PAK’s defective nature was a threat to the established order and was to be destroyed so that her PAK wouldn’t provide another irken with such resistance. Fortunately, Rissen managed an escape before she could be shipped off for execution, and in the subsequent chase ended up dispatching Ana, who admitted to being the spy, and threw Rissen into such a rage that she nearly killed the traitorous irken, but she was stopped by Critz, who tried to appeal to her as a soldier.

Rissen desperately tried to reach the part of Critz that had started the insurgent group, but this only led to a short-lived fight, and in the end Rissen was forced to shoot and kill Critz.

Heartbroken, Rissen prepared to leave Irk for good only to have second thoughts upon remembering another bleeding soul that was suffering the Empire's wrath for his beliefs. With only one friend left, Rissen went incognito to her former place of employment. Upon arrival, she was stunned to find the hospital in disarray and made use of the chaos to free Cloo from his cell.

Together, they fled the planet in a ship of Rissen's own design made a few months prior to her capture. Rissen reveals to Cloo that she had built the ship from dismantled ship parts her group had stolen in their efforts to sabotage irken ships. However, unbeknownst to others in her group, Rissen took a trip to Planet Dirrt for discarded parts so that she could create her own robotic assistants in lieu of SIRs, for she had known even back then that the chances of more than two members of their team making it were slim to none. Still, she wanted whoever remained to have all the help they could get.

Piloting the ship away from Irk, Rissen instructed Cloo to activate the two robots, MIRU and EMID. The four then set out together to find allies in the fight against the Irken Empire and, perhaps, commit heinous crimes and shenanigans in their free time since they were no longer governed by the rules of their planet.

Personality: Rissen is a considerably unsympathetic character with an overall quiet, morose view on life due to her past experiences as a soldier and the tragedy leading to her self-instated exile. Nevertheless, she tries to maintain a positive disposition for the sake of those (her allies/friends) around her. Rissen is quite tech savvy, as stated above, and can make useful pieces of equiptment out of junk and spare parts. Kindness isn't a perpetual trait but Rissen tries to remain civil to most anyone she meets, save for whoever bothers or otherwise angers her. Despite the goals her former training meant to ingrain she chooses to approach many situations with an overall diplomatic style resorting to violence only if necessary, unfortunately she finds many situations do require it. Loyalty is an ideal that is still greatly respected, as she believes it to be ingrained in every Irken psyche (to a degree), but she chooses to give it only to those she feels she can fully trust. In short, Rissen is a rather complex character but once you get to know her she starts to seem rather normal...well, normal in a strange sense....

Strengths: Intelligence (Relatively high), Tech Smart (Already mentioned...twice), Mental Resilience (Can withstand high levels of mental/emotional pain and brainwashing), Regenerative Abilities (As most of her race she heals fast), Expert Piloting Skills (Shows exemplary piloting ability), Skilled Combatant (defensive wise), & Organic Disturbance (Prevents her from being controlled and/or brainwashed by any technological presence, including the Control Brains)

Weaknesses: Can't cook (Enough said), Poor Physical Combatant (Lacks physical strength needed to overcome more powerful enemies), Poor With Blades (Inexperienced with bladed weapons), Fear of Being Erased (fears having her PAK's data erased from existence), Dislikes acknowledging her past (Too many bad/traumatic memories), & Bad with Directions (usually needs a map or relies on others for guidance in unfamiliar territories)

And that concludes my very first Irken Oc, Rissen! *EDIT: Can you tell I touched up her reference? Soon, I'll up load a physical reference so hopefully I can just transfer this info to there, but I'll probably leave the lengthy history here.
WARNING: This is NOT a story but a character reference. You have been warned.
